What is the IEEE?

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association with corporate headquarters in New York City and its headquarters in Piscataway, New Jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the merger of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers. 

Today it is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 420,000 members in more than 160 countries, focused on educational and technical advancement in electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and related disciplines.

We are an ambassador of the IEEE Young Professionals

Diram and CIITAP (Centro de Investigación e Innovación Tecnológica Aplicada a Potencia) have been evolving along with technology to generate innovative solutions that satisfy our customers. The IEEE gives us access to thousands of state-of-the-art articles and an invaluable connection to industry experts in the field of Power Quality.

As a result, we at Diram have contributed to the development of new real-world solutions for the power industry and publications on topics such as "Extension on IEC 61000 3 6's General Summation Law to Estimate harmonic current at PCC based on Probability Distribution".

As an IEEE ambassador, our goal is to be a bridge between the young professional community and the industry within Region 9. Promote best practices, strategic alliances and active volunteerism of members, generating added value and encouraging active industry recruitment for IEEE members.
